An effort to recall Diane Douglas from her position on the Governing Board of the Peoria Unified School District was launched in March 2010.[1] The effort was subsequently abandoned short of going to a vote.
Background
Organizers of the potential recall effort were upset that Douglas advocated a "no" vote on Proposition 100, a statewide sales tax increase that was on the May 18, 2010 ballot in Arizona.[2]
Path to the ballot
Recall organizers would have needed to collect 3,281 valid signatures by the August 16 submission deadline to force a recall election in March 2011.[3]
