Dr. Dierdre Paul is a 2014 Republican candidate seeking election to the U.S. House to represent the 9th Congressional District of New Jersey.[1] She ran uncontested for the Republican nomination in the primary on June 3, 2014.[2]

Paul was a 2013 Republican candidate for District 37 of the New Jersey General Assembly.[3]


Paul earned her B.A in Journalism and English from the University of Alabama in 1985, her M.Ed. in Guidance Counseling from Lehman College in 1989 and her M.Ed. and Ed.D. in Curriculum and Instruction from the Teachers College at Columbia University in 1994. Her professional experience includes working as an education professor for the past 20 years, as an author of books and articles, as an educational consultant, as a public school teacher and union leader.[4]

Paul is running in the 2014 election for the U.S. House to represent New Jersey's 9th District. Paul ran uncontested for the Republican nomination in the primary on June 3, 2014. The general election takes place November 4, 2014.

Paul ran in the 2013 election for New Jersey General Assembly District 37. She was defeated by Gordon M. Johnson (D) and Valerie Vainieri Huttle (D) in the general election, which took place on November 5, 2013.[5][6]
