Biography

Douglas Bryce is a quality engineer with Crane Aerospace and has lived in the Santa Clarita Valley for over 25 years. He has two children that are Saugus Union alumni.[1]

Douglas A. Bryce ran against four candidates including incumbents Paul De La Cerda and Judy Egan Umeck as well as challengers Stacie L. Allegra and Chris Trunkey for three seats in the general election on November 5, 2013.[2]

The Saugus Teeachers Association and State Assemblyman Scott Wilk officially endorsed Douglas A. Bryce for the November 5, 2013 election.[3]

Santa Clarita outperforms the rest of California when measured on the basis of median household income, percentage of residents living below the poverty level, percentage of residents over the age of 25 with a Bachelor's degree and percentage of residents over the age of 25 with a high school diploma. The median household income in Santa Clarita was $83,579 compared to $61,632 for the state of California. 31.7% of Santa Clarita residents aged 25 years and older attained a bachelor's degree compared to a 30.2 in California. The US Census also showed the poverty rate in Santa Clarita was 7.7% compared to 14.4% for the entire state. The US Census also found that 87.7% of Santa Clarita residents aged 25 years and older attained a high school degree compared to a 80.8% in California.[6]
