Douglas M. Lee was a 2014 Republican candidate for District 16 of the New York State Assembly.

Biography

Lee earned both a B.S. in biology and an MBA in accounting from St. John's University. He is a Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), a Certified Information Security Systems Professional (CISSP), a Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) and a Certified Data Processor (CDP). Lee works as the vice president of IT Audit for a global investment bank. He previously worked for KPMG, a senior manager leading information security consulting practice.[1]

Elections for the New York State Assembly took place in 2014. A primary election took place on September 9, 2014. The general election took place on November 4, 2014. The signature filing deadline for candidates wishing to run in this election was July 10, 2014. Incumbent Michelle Schimel was unopposed in the Democratic primary, while Douglas Lee was unopposed in the Republican primary. Schimel ran on the Working Families Party, Women's Equality Party and Independence Party of New York State tickets and Lee ran on the Conservative Party ticket. Schimel defeated Lee in the general election.[3][4][5]

Lee and his wife, Karen, reside in Manhasset, New York. Lee was an Assistant Scout Master, served as chairperson for the Chinese Cultural Association of Long Island and Chinese School and volunteered for the Gift of Life program of Rotary International.[1]

Lee enjoys camping and fishing, and is an amateur astronomer.[1]
