Issues

Communities across DuPage County are hiking water rates due to alleged financial mismanagement at the DuPage Water Commission. Senate Bill 580 would do away with the commission and turn the control of water operations over to the county. The villages of Westmont and Woodridge, Illinois joined the DuPage Mayors and Managers Conference in opposition to Senate Bill 580.[6]

The conference did support a full audit of the DuPage Water Commission.[7] It also worked to compromise with the legislature on a restructured water commission.[8]

Services

The conference helped determine what projects are eligible for American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, or "stimulus," funds.[9]

The conference works closely with the Chicago Metropolitan Agency for Planning, the regional planning agency tasked with comprehensive planning for the Chicago area, on planning and transit issues.[10][11]
