Earl Everett was a 2014 Democratic candidate who sought election to the U.S. House to represent the 2nd Congressional District of Oklahoma.[1] Everett defeated Joshua Harris-Till in the Democratic primary on June 24, 2014.[2] He was defeated by incumbent Markwayne Mullin (R) in the general election on November 4, 2014.[3]

Everett was previously a 2012 Democratic candidate who sought election to the U.S. House to represent the 2nd Congressional District of Oklahoma. Everett was defeated in the Democratic primary on June 26, 2012.[3]

2012

Everett cited higher taxes, women's issues, and job creation as his top campaign priorities. Everett was a vocal supporter of raising taxes. "The taxes at this time are not sufficient enough to fund needed programs, although there are some programs that could be deleted," Everett said. "The Constitution mandates ... to provide for the general welfare of the United States." Everett also called for more federal support of education.[4]
