Elcho Exceed Revenue Limit (2008)

The Elcho Exceed Revenue Limits referendum was on the April 1, 2008 ballot in the School District of Elcho, which is in Langlade County. The purpose of the referendum was to exceed the state-set revenue cap by $500,000 per year for five years (totaling $2,500,000 overall), with the additional funds being directed to the school budget. The additional funds would have been used to meet the basic operating costs of the district.

Text of measure

Be it resolved by the School Board of the School District of Elcho, Langlade and Oneida Counties, Wisconsin, that the revenues included in the School District budget for the 2008-2009 school year through the 2012-2013 school year be authorized to exceed the revenue limit specified in Section 121.91, Wisconsin Statutes, by $500,000 a year for each of those 5 years, for non-recurring purposes consisting of general operation and maintenance expenses


Failed, with 467 "yes" votes and 588 "no" votes.
