AnElmire-Warner Fire District Levy Renewal measure was on the August 7, 2012 ballot in the Elmire-Warner fire district area, which is in Otsego County.

This measure sought to renew the current fire district levy which is set at a rate of $1 per $1,000 of assessed value for a further four years in order to continue to pay for operational costs of the fire department as well as equipment costs in the district. It was approved.

Text of measure

Shall the limitation on the amount of taxes which may be imposed on taxable property within the territorial limits of the Elmina-Warner Fire Authority (Elmirea Township, Otsego County, Michigan and Warner Township, Antrim County, Michigan) be increased by up to one dollar ($1.00) per thousand Dollars ($1,000)(1 mill) of the taxable value on all taxable property within the territorial limits of the Elmira-Warner Fire Authority for four (4) years, 2012 through 2015 inclusive, for the purpose of providing funds for purchasing equipment, operations and maintenance of fire and rescue services, and shall the Elmira-Warner Fire Authority levy such millage for these purposes? If approved and levied in its entirety, it is estimated that the 1 mill would raise an estimated $90,979 for the Elmira-Warner Fire Authority when first levied in 2012.[1][2]
