Senate Committees

The Energy & Environmental Protection Committee is a standing committee of the Hawaii House of Representatives.

Per the House Rules, committees of the Hawaii House of Representatives are assigned by party caucuses. Members of the majority caucus designate the chair, vice-chair and majority party members of the committee, while members of the minority caucus designates the minority members of the committee.[1] Committees are assigned at the start of each term.[2] A majority of appointed members make up a committee's quorum.[3] The Speaker and Vice Speaker serve as an ex officio member of each committee without the power to vote.[4]
