The Environment and Natural Resources Committee is a standing committee of the Rhode Island House of Representatives.

Per Section 11 of the House Rules, committees of the Rhode Island House of Representatives are assigned by the Speaker of the House.[1] After the adoption of House Rules, the standing committees are appointed each year in the month of January.[2] The Speaker and the Minority Leader are responsible for appointing minority membership on standing committees, subcommittees, joint committees, boards and commissions.[1] The Speaker has the power to appoint the chair, vice chair and secretary of each committee. Any vacancies that have occurred in any committees or subcommittees after members have been appointed will be filled by the Speaker.[1] The Speaker, Majority Leader and Minority Leader are considered to be ex officio members with voting rights in all committees but are not counted for purposes in determining quorum.[1]
