Eric Cable is a 2014 Libertarian candidate for District 104 of the North Carolina House of Representatives.


Campaign themes


Cable's website highlights the following campaign themes:[1]

Major Issues:
  • Modify the rules of the General Assembly to promote multi-partisan participation and give the minority caucus a greater ability to participate in the Government.
  • Eliminate gerrymandering by removing partisan influence from the structuring of district borders for both the State General Assembly and Federal House of Representatives districts.
  • Defend Civil Liberties by defending the Second Amendment of the Federal Constitution at the State Level by modifying Article 1, Section 20 of the State Constitution to better define what arms all free citizens may bear.
  • Eliminate the State Income Tax by promoting a fair-tax structure for North Carolina and promote small business growth by giving people more to spend at those businesses.
  • Article Five Convention:
  • The process by which state legislatures can collectively propose amendments to the Federal Constitution, especially those the members of the Federal Legislature would never propose themselves including:
  • Eliminate and prohibit Federal Income Tax
  • Impose Term Limits on members of the Federal Legislature
  • Impose Term Limits on Federal Judges at all levels
  • Balanced Budget Amendment[2]
