Marshall previously ran for election to District 10 of the Hawaii State Senate in 2010 and 2012.

In a press release, Marshall said the Tuesday before the 2012 election that, if elected, he would use his legislative salary to adopt a child.[2]

Elections for the office of Hawaii House of Representatives will take place in 2014. A primary election took place August 9, 2014. The general election will take place on November 4, 2014. The signature-filing deadline for candidates wishing to run in this election was June 3, 2014. Incumbent Scott K. Saiki was unopposed in the Democratic primary, while Eric B. Marshall was unopposed in the Republican primary. Saiki will face Marshall in the general election.[3][4]

Marshall ran in the 2012 election for Hawaii State Senate District 10. Marshall ran unopposed in the August 11 Republican primary and was defeated by District 9 incumbent Les Ihara, Jr. (D) in the general election which took place on November 6, 2012.[5][6][7]
