House Committees

The Ethics Committee is a standing committee of the New York State Senate.

Per Senate Rules, committees of the New York State Senate are assigned by the Temporary President.[1] Committees are assigned annually at the start of each term.[2] The Temporary President shall appoint the chair and vice-chair of each committee and sub-committee.[1] The Republican Conference Leader, the Independent Democratic Conference Leader and the Democratic Conference Leader are considered to be nonvoting ex-officio members on all standing committees which they are not members.[3]
