INDIANAPOLIS, Indiana: Indiana's former utility regulator David Lott Hardy was charged with four felony charges due to his failure to disclose the content of several meetings with Duke executives about cost overruns. Former Governor Mitch Daniels fired Hardy for the scandal surrounding these Duke Energy ethics controversies. However, Marion Superior Court Judge William Nelson tossed out the charges against Hardy saying that his conduct was not criminal but that David Lott Hardy had betrayed the trust of Indiana citizens and that his behavior was reprehensible.[1]
