This measure sought to renew the current fire levy which is set at a rate of $.10 per $100 of assessed property value for a further five years in order to continue to help pay for maintenance of fire equipment, salaries for fire fighters and providing other emergency services as needed in the city.[2]

Text of measure

The question on the ballot:

A renewal of a tax for the benefit of the City of Fairview Park for the purpose of providing and maintaining fire apparatus, payment of firefighters salaries, employer's contribution required under ORC 742.34, or providing ambulance, paramedic or other emergency medical services at a rate not exceeding 1 mill for each one dollar of valuation, which amounts to 10 cents for each one hundred dollars of valuation, for five years, commencing in 2011, first due in calendar year 2012[3]
