Hymon earned his A.A in Criminal Justice from Craven Community College in 1987. His professional experience includes working for Walmart for 15 years and as Director for the Eckert Youth Foundation.
Hymon's facebook page said that his top priorities were to make "improvements in the educational system and better jobs, with a decent living wage for all. Additionally as a resident of our beautiful coast he has deep environmental concern for our very fragile ecosystem."
