Two Ferrelview Village Sales Tax Implementation measures were on the April 3, 2012 ballot in the village of Ferrelview which is in Platte County.

Both measures were defeated

The first measure sought to implement a sales tax at a rate of .5 percent for an ongoing amount of time in order to fund capital improvement projects in the village as well as paying bond debts.

The second measure sought to impose another sales tax at a rate of .5 percent for an ongoing amount of time in order to pay for transportation projects in the village including road repair and maintenance as well as airport maintenance costs.[1]

Question 1: Shall the Village of Ferrelview impose a sales tax of 0.5% for the purpose of funding capital improvements which may include the retirement of debt under previously authorized bonded indebtedness?

Question 2: Shall the Village of Ferrelview impose a sales tax of 0.5% for transportation purposes? “Transportation purposes” include the following: Construction, repair, and maintenance of roads, streets and bridges within the city; Construction, repair, and maintenance of airports; The acquisition of land for streets, roads, bridges, and airports; Planning and feasibility studies for streets, roads, bridges, and airports.
