Bordering the Gulf of Mexico, the Atlantic Ocean, Georgia and Alabama, Florida is nicknamed "the Sunshine State." Although Florida's capital is Tallahassee, its largest city is Jacksonville and the largest metropolitan area is Miami. It is home to the longest coastline in the continental U.S.

The basic structure, duties, function and operations are defined and established by the Florida Constitution. Florida has two members of the U.S. Senate, a total of 27 members of the U.S. House of Representatives, 120 members of the House of Representatives and 40 members of the State Senate.
