A Folsom Fire Protection District Tax Renewal measure was on the March 27, 2010 ballot in fire district number 5 in the city of Folsom which is in St. Tammany Parish.

This measure was approved

  • YES 643 (93%)Approveda
  • NO 48 (7%)[1]

This measure sought to enact a 19.68 mill levy in the district to be collected for a further ten years. The money generated from this tax will go towards the operational costs and budget of the fire protection district. The levy had expired the end of 2009, but the district failed to get it on the ballot for renewal, so the $420,000 that was generated from the levy was a budget shortfall for the district. Cutbacks had been made due to this shortfall, but fire officials are hoping residents would renew this tax and allow for normal operations of the fire district again.[2]
