A Fort Osage School District Bond Measure was on the April 5, 2011 ballot in the Fort Osage school district area which is in Jackson County.

This measure was approved

  • YES 1,458 (62.76%)Approveda
  • NO 865 (37.24%)[1]

This measure sought to create a bond in the amount of $7.8 million in order to help pay for maintenance projects including roof repair to several school buildings, heating and cooling repairs and upgrades to current heating/cooling technologies. School officials noted that during heavy rains many of the schools have leaking roofs and conditions are not safe for students any more. Education of the public was the next step, highlighting the needs of the school and why asking for a bond now was the best option for the schools. Since this was approved, this will add around $.12 per $100 of assessed property value to the current school tax rate.[2]
