Franklin Pierce School District Renewal Levy, 2 (February 2010)

There were two Franklin Pierce School District Levy measures on the February 9 ballot in Pierce County for voters in the Franklin Pierce school district.

Both measures were approved
Proposition 1

  • YES 4,559 (59.36%)Approveda
  • NO 3,121 (40.64%)

Proposition 2

  • YES 4,576 (59.55%)Approveda
  • NO 3,108 (40.45%)[1]

The first proposition sought to add an additional tax to the existing levy at a rate of $.35 increasing over the four years it would be in place. The money generated from this addition will go towards technology upgrades and improvements throughout the district.

The second measure sought to renew an existing levy that was set to expire in order to further funding educational programs and school operation costs in the district. The levy will be in place for a further four years and will be at a rate of $3.60 per $1,000 of assessed value. [2]
