Fred Girod (b. 1951) is a Republican member of the Oregon State Senate, representing District 9. He was first appointed to the chamber on January 30, 2008, to replace Senator Roger Beyer, who resigned in early January.

Girod is a former member of Stayton Budget Committee and Stayton City Council. He previously served in the Oregon House of Representatives from 1993 to 1994, and again from 2006 to 2008.

Biography

Girod earned a B.S. from Oregon State University, a DMD from Oregon Health Sciences University, and an MPA from Harvard University. His professional experience includes working as a dentist, as a former Real Estate Developer, and as a partner in Lakeside Assisted Care Facility.[1]

Girod won re-election in the 2012 election for Oregon State Senate District 9. Girod was unopposed in the May 15 Republican primary and defeated Steve Frank (D) in the general election which took place on November 6, 2012.[2][3]
