A Fredonia Township Fire Levy Increase measure was on the February 28, 2012 ballot in the township of Fredonia which is in Calhoun County.

This measure sought to increase the current fire levy by a rate of $1 per $1,000 of assessed property value for a further eight years in order to continue to pay for new fire apparatus' as needed by the fire department.[2]

The question on the ballot:

Shall Fredonia Township impose an increase of one (1) mill ($1.00 per $1,000.00 of taxable value) in the tax limitation imposed under Article IX, Section 6 of the Michigan Constitution and levy it for eight (8) years, 2012 through 2019, inclusive, for the purchase of new fire apparatus, which 1-mill increase will raise an estimated $50,000.00 in the first year the millage is levied?[3]
