Little Rock, Arkansas: Rep. Tom Cotton (R) announced he would challenge two-term U.S. Senator Mark Pryor (D) in 2014. Charles Dunn, a professor at Clemson and political analyst, noted that Pryor is one of many Senators considered vulnerable to a conservative challenger in next year's election. Cotton is a veteran of the Afghan and Iraq wars, and won election to an open seat in 2012 vacated by Mike Ross (D). Mark Darr (R), the current Lieutenant Governor of Arkansas, is also seeking the Republican nomination in 2014.[1]
