Geoff Young is a Democratic candidate for Governor of Kentucky in the 2015 election. He announced plans for a gubernatorial run along with lieutenant gubernatorial candidate Cherokee Schill to replace term-limited Gov. Steve Beshear (D).[1] At the filing deadline on January 27, Young selected Jonathan Masters as a replacement running mate as Schill withdrew from the election.[2]

He was a Democratic candidate for the United States House of Representatives in the 2014 elections. He ran in the 6th Congressional District of Kentucky. He was defeated by Elisabeth Jensen in the Democratic primary on May 20, 2014.[3]

He was a 2012 Green Party candidate for District 45 of the Kentucky House of Representatives.

Young worked as an assistant director of the Kentucky Division of Energy from 1992 to 2005.[4]
