Geoff Young is a Democratic candidate for Governor of Kentucky in the 2015 election. He announced plans for a gubernatorial run along with lieutenant gubernatorial candidate Cherokee Schill to replace term-limited Gov. Steve Beshear (D).[1]

He was a Democratic candidate for the United States House of Representatives in the 2014 elections. He ran in the 6th Congressional District of Kentucky. He was defeated by Elisabeth Jensen in the Democratic primary on May 20, 2014.[2]

He was a 2012 Green Party candidate for District 45 of the Kentucky House of Representatives.

Young worked as an assistant director of the Kentucky Division of Energy from 1992 to 2005.[3]

2015

Young announced plans to run in the 2015 gubernatorial election in a press release on November 17, 2014. Young noted in this release that, "We both have highly developed BS detectors, and we will fearlessly use them against any politician who tries to deceive the people of Kentucky."[1] He filed candidacy papers with the Kentucky Secretary of State on December 1, 2014.[4]

Young ran for election to the U.S. House, representing the 6th Congressional District of Kentucky. He was defeated by Elisabeth Jensen in the Democratic primary on May 20, 2014.[2]
