The primary took place on July 31, 2012 with the general election on November 6, 2012.

District 3 incumbent Chuck Eaton and district 5 incumbent Stan Wise both won re-election in the general election on November 6, 2012.[1]

The commission is composed of five popularly elected members who serve staggered, six-year terms. They are responsible for regulating Georgia's public utilities -- that is, electric, gas, telecommunications and transportation firms.[2]
