Gilmanton Exceed Revenue Limit (2008)

The Gilmanton Exceed Revenue Limits referendum was on the April 1 ballot in the School District of Gilmanton, which is in Buffalo County. The purpose of the referendum was to exceed the state-set revenue cap by $125,000 per year, with the additional funds being directed to the school budget. The additional funds would have been used to meet basic operating costs of the district.

Text of measure

Be it resolved by the School Board of the School District of Gilmanton that it shall include revenue in its budget for the 2008-2009 school year and each subsequent school year a sum not to exceed $125,000 in excess of the revenue limits set forth in Section 121.91, Wis. Stats., annually for the purpose of meeting operational expenses.

Result

Failed, with 138 "yes" votes and 314 "no" votes.
