Ginny Fields is a former Democratic member of the New York State Assembly, representing District 5 from March 2004 -- after winning a special election -- until 2010. Fields was also a legislator for Suffolk County Legislature from 1999 to 2003.

Fields lost to challenger Ken Mangan in the Democratic primary on September 14.[2] However, Fields secured the nomination of the Independence and Working Families parties. She was defeated in the general election by Alfred Graf (R).[3] Fields was seeking her fourth term.
