Gov. Fallin to chair National Governors Association

OKLAHOMA CITY,Oklahoma: Republican governor Mary Fallin will head the National Governors Association starting August 4. She will the third woman and the first female Republican governor to serve as chair.
Fallin will announce her initiative after the August 4th meeting in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. She said, “I also will once I announce my initiative by having some round-table discussions around the nation about the topic and the initiative itself and working with other governors across the nation on the initiative.”
Fellow Oklahoman Lt. Governor Todd Lamb will lead the National Lieutenant Governors Association. He was elected last week to the chairmanship.
Previously, Fallin served as the vice chair of the National Governors Association. She also chaired the National Governors Association’s Center for Best Practices Board.
