TALLAHASSEE, Florida: According to reports, the political committee New Jobs and Revenue for Florida has started spending money hiring political consultants and petition signature gatherers. The group is backed by a number of companies associated with efforts to introduce more casinos into the state. It is currently too late to be place on this year's ballot, but the group may be gearing up for an attempt at the 2014 elections. Brian Hughes, a spokesman for the group, made a statement regarding the committee saying, "New Jobs and Revenue for Florida is an exploratory effort to consider whether or not there are ways to have more entertainment options in Florida." He did not for certain whether or not the group was preparing for an effort to reach the ballot.[1]
