There were two Harrison Sales Tax Renewal measures on the March 9 ballot in Boone County for voters in the city of Harrison.

Both measure were approved with the same amount of votes.

  • YES 517 Approveda
  • NO 162[1]

The first sales tax renewal was for a one-half cent tax that goes strictly towards maintaining infrastructure in the city.

The second sales tax renewal was for a quarter of a cent tax that goes towards operation costs of the city.

Both taxes were approved in 2002, but were set to expire in June of 2010. City officials were holding meetings to ensure that city voters know these taxes are renewals and not increases and to inform voters how important the money is to keeping the city running.[2]
