The Health Care Committee is a standing committee of the Washington State Senate.

Per Section V of the Senate Rules, committees of the Washington State Senate are appointed by the President of the Senate and confirmed by the senate.[1] Committees are responsible considering measures referred to them in the interest of the state.[2] The deliberations of committees considering a vote on any bill, resolution, or memorial must be open to the public.[3]

Function

The Senate Health Care Committee considers policy and financing issues relating to health care delivery and access across all populations, emerging public health issues, long-term care for all vulnerable populations, regulatory matters involving health professions and health care facilities. The committee also considers such topics as end-of-life, medical marijuana, emerging health-related technologies, and medical malpractice legislation.
