The Health Policy Oversight Joint Committee is a standing committee of the Kansas State Legislature.

Function

The joint committee on health policy oversight shall have the exclusive responsibility to monitor and study the operations and decisions of the division of health care finance of the department of health and environment. In addition, the joint committee shall oversee the implementation and operation of the children's health insurance plans, including the assessment of the performance based contracting's measurable outcomes as set forth in subsection (b)(4) of K.S.A. 38-2001, and amendments thereto.[1][2]

Membership

The joint committee shall be composed of 12 members. Six members shall be members of the house of representatives and six members shall be members of the senate. Four of the members who are members of the house of representatives shall be appointed by the speaker of the house of representatives, four members who are senators shall be appointed by the president of the senate, two members who are members of the house of representatives shall be appointed by the minority leader of the house of representatives and two members who are senators shall be appointed by the minority leader of the senate.[3][2]
