Campaign themes

Beaven's campaign website listed the following issues:[4]

  • Getting Florida Working
Excerpt: "I will not be a part of the crowd who continues to jam 20th century economic recovery tactics into 21st century economic problems. It’s activity but it is not progress. We must go farther than a “jobs plan” that was first envisioned in a long gone era. If I’m given the opportunity to serve you in Congress, I will be a loud and passionate voice for a serious plan to position America as a global leader in a new economy."
  • Economic Opportunity
Excerpt: "My husband and I are not wealthy, in fact we’re not even well off. It’s Just a Dream Unless You Pay For It: Patriotism means addressing our tax structure, our debt and our deficit. We pay our bills every month with very little left. With Douglas now preparing to be deployed to Afghanistan and losing his civilian pay check, we are preparing to live on a reduced income. But we aren’t special, we’re just doing what everyone else is doing – except the Federal government. "
  • Fiscal Responsibility
Excerpt: "The United States was created to be a place of economic opportunity for anyone who is willing to work hard, help thy neighbor and sacrifice for the greater goodI believe we can realize the American dream again but we must fight for it together."
  • Protecting Medicare
Excerpt: "Honoring the Work of Those Who Built America: Let’s Mend Social Security and Medicare, Not End It."
