Hillary Schieve is a member of the Reno, Nevada City Council, serving as an At-Large member. She was first elected to the council in 2012.

Schieve is a 2014 candidate for Mayor of Reno, Nevada.

Biography

Schieve earned her B.S. from Arizona State University. Her professional experience includes owning two clothing stores.[1]

Downtown Reno
At a candidate forum hosted by the Rotary Club of Reno on September 15, 2014, Shieve remarked that the "biggest problem" that she would tackle as mayor concerns downtown Reno.[2]

I will roll up my sleeves and work incredibly hard to improve our downtown. I was one of the original founders of the Midtown district, so I know how to get something like that done."

Elections for the Mayor of Reno, Nevada will take place on November 4, 2014. A primary election was held on June 10. Raymond "Pez" Pezonella and Hillary Schieve defeated DeLores Aiazzi, Robert Avery, Marsha Berkbigler, Michael Bertrand, Sean Burke, Chad Dehne, Thomas Fitzgerald, Brian Lee Fleming, Erik Holland, Eddie Lorton, Mark Markel, Ian Pasalich, Tony Perri, Larry Pizorno, Charles "Chuck" Reno, Idora Silver and Ken Stark in the primary election. Pezonella will face Schieve in the general election.[3][4]

Personal

Schieve is board member of the Nevada Youth Empowerment Project for homeless teens and a member of the Midtown Merchants Association. She was named the Reno Gazette-Journal’s 2011 “Entrepreneur of the Year" and recognized by the Nevada Young Professional Network and the Reno Gazette-Journal as a member of the “Top Twenty under Forty."[1]
