Hillsborough County Mayor Veto Repeal (November 2010)
This measure was defeated
- YES 107,947 (39.12%)
- NO 167,957 (60.88%)
This measure sought to repeal the previously voted for repeal power of the mayor. The repeal was approved in 2008, but the measure to create a mayor position in the county failed to get on the ballot so this repeal is for a county position that does not exist. Though some council members said the people had already approved it and it should not be voted on again, others said it was useless to have it on the books when there was no mayor position.
