This measure sought to renew the current road levy which is set at a rate of $1.91 per $1,000 of assessed value for a further four years in order to continue to pay for road improvement and repair costs in the township.

The question on the ballot:
|Shall the previously voted 2.00 mill increase in the tax limitation imposed under Article IX, Section 6 of the Michigan Constitution on General Ad Valorem Taxes within the Hope Township of Midland County, which has been reduced by the required Headlee Amendment Rollback to 1.01690 mills, be renewed at 1.91690 mills ($1.91690 per $1,000 of taxable value) for the period 2012 through 2015, inclusive, and the funds thereby derived to be used for the improvement, repair and maintenance of established roads located within Township, thereby raising $85,000. This is a renewal of Hope Township Road Millage presently being levied.|
