Breaking news
The Idaho lieutenant gubernatorial election of 2010 was held on November 2, 2010 following a primary election on May 25, 2010.[1] The deadline for submission of nominating signatures to qualify for the primary ballot was March 19, 2010. Polls were open from 8:00 am to 8:00 pm on all election day, with county clerks having the discretion to open polls an hour earlier, at 7:00 am, if needed to accommodate voters[2].

Eldon Wallace of the Democratic Party had no primary challenger, while Republicans sent their incumbent Lt. Governor, Brad Little on to seek a second term in November. Little secured a second term alongside fellow Republican Butch Otter. The pair began their new terms in January of 2011.

Though it was not in place for the primaries, Idaho's new law requiring voter's to present personal identification at the polls became effective for the general election.[3]

Idaho is one of 17 states that holds entirely separate gubernatorial and lt. gubernatorial elections. On November 2, 2010, Democrat Eldon Wallace and Brad Little, the incumbent Republican, faced one another.
