Ikaika Anderson
Ikaika Anderson was a member of the Honolulu City Council in Hawaii, representing District 3. He assumed office in 2009. He left office on September 23, 2020.
Anderson (Democratic Party) ran for election for Lieutenant Governor of Hawaii. He lost in the Democratic primary on August 13, 2022.
Biography
While attending the University of Hawaii, Ikaika Anderson was the assistant committee clerk for the Hawaii House of Representatives' Judiciary Committee. He worked as a clerk for five legislative sessions.[1] In 2002, Anderson was a legislative aide to Barbara Marshall, former Honolulu city council member. After Marshall's death in 2009, Anderson was elected in a special election to Marshall's seat on the city council. In 2012, Anderson ran in the general election and won.[1]
In 2013, Anderson announced his candidacy for congress as a Democrat, representing Hawaii's 1st Congressional District. Anderson lost the primary election to Mark Takai.
Anderson served on the city's Agricultural Development Task Force and was the vice chair of the council as well as the chair of the Zoning and Planning Committee.[1][2]
