An Indian Trails Library District Levy Increase measure was on the April 5, 2011 ballot in the Indian Trails library district area which is in Cook and Lake County.

This measure sought to increase the library district property taxes from the current rate of 5 percent to 9.8 percent for one year in order to help pay for current library needs.[3] A complaint had been filed against the library district, stating that it used public finances to promote this levy increase measure. The library had sent out mailings promoting the measure, though one residents stated that it was not just presenting the facts of the issue (which is legal) but putting their spin on it to encourage a 'Yes' vote. Library officials noted that their attorney said the language of the mailing was legal and within their rights. The issue will not be considered until after the vote.[4]
