The Iowa Utilities Board is a three member board in the Iowa state government. The Utilities Board is responsible for regulating the rates and services of electric, natural gas and water utilities.

Current officeholder

The current chair is Elizabeth Jacobs. She serves alongside Nick Wagner and Sheila Tipton. Wagner was appointed by Governor Terry Branstad on May 24, 2013, succeding Darrell Hanson, whose term ended April 30, 2013. Wagner's term will expire on April 30, 2019.[1][2] Tipton was appointed on July 19 to fill the third seat left vacant by the resignation of former board member Swati Dandekar effective July 22, 2013. Dandekar resigned in order to focus on a bid for Congress in 2014.[3] Tipton officially assumed office on August 19, 2013, for a term expiring in April 2015.[4]
