Epperson ran in the 2012 election for Tennessee House of Representatives, District 24. Epperson was defeated by incumbent Kevin D. Brooks in the August 2 primary election. Aaron Hyden originally filed, but will not appear on the primary ballot.[1][2]

Epperson favors lower taxes, is pro-life, and pro-gun. On the issue of education reform, he believes, "the Tennessee Education System needs some changes. Students need to be put first.
