A Jackson School District Bond Measure was on the April 3, 2012 ballot in the Jackson school district area which is in Cape Girardeau County.

This measure was approved[1]

This measure sought to issue a bond in the amount of $16 million which would go towards building a new elementary school in the district. Since it was approved, the current levy of $3.80 per $1,000 of assessed value will not be raised but rather would just be extended until the new bond is paid off. Officials noted the increase of class sizes and student enrollment as the main reason behind the need for the new school, there just is not enough space currently available for all the students.[2]
