Jane Clemons (b. April 2, 1946) is a former Democratic member of the New Hampshire House of Representatives. She represented the Hillsborough 24 District from 1990-2010. Clemons was the deputy democratic leader for the New Hampshire State House of Representatives. Clemons now serves on the New Hampshire state Ballot Law Commission. Clemons was appointed by Speaker Terie Norelli.[1]

Clemons' political experiences also include State House appointment to New Hampshire Democratic State Committee; delegate for National Democratic Convention for Kerry; chairwoman for Nashua Democratic City Committee; delegate to Democrat State Convention; clerk and chair for Nashua Delegation; chair and member for the Democratic State Committee; chair of the Nashua Democratic City Committee; and second vice chair of the New Hampshire Democratic Party.

Clemons is a retired nurse. Her other professional experiences include charge nurse at different locations; painting teacher; and business manager.

Clemons earned her LPN from Moore General Hospital School of Practical Nursing. She and her husband, Michael, have three children; Bret, Nick, and Benjamin.[2]

Clemons did not seek re-election to Hillsborough 24 in 2010.

2008

On November 4, 2008, Clemons was re-elected by finishing first for the three-seat Hillsborough District 24 of the New Hampshire House of Representatives receiving 2,100 votes, ahead of Democrats David Campbell (1,890), Kenneth Gidge (1,663), Republicans Kenneth Ziehm (1,292), Dorothy Knightly (1,139), and Scott Rogers (1,116), and "Others" (6). [3]
