Campaign themes

Sparks's website emphasized the following campaign themes:[2]

  • Support public education: The Statehouse voted to cut public education while extending tax breaks to huge corporations. We need strong schools and as an educator and a legislator, Jeff will fight until we get them. Our kids deserve better.
  • Fair wages for an honest day's work: We need to create an economy that pays a fair wage to working-class Hoosiers. When elected, Jeff will fight for a wage that allows Hoosier families to buy the bare necessities. The time for tax loopholes for the wealthy has long since passed.
  • No discrimination against any Hoosier: No citizen gay or straight, rich or poor, man or woman deserves to be discriminated against.[3]
