Meece has worked as a teacher at Turkey Run High school for 27 years teaching Government, Economics and U.S. History. He has served as a Parke County Commissioner for three terms. Currently, Meece also serves as the president of the Wabash Valley West Central Indiana School Insurance Trust.
Meece ran in the 2012 election for Indiana House of Representatives District 42. Meece ran against Alan P. Morrison and Bill Webster in the Republican primary on May 8, 2012, and was defeated by Alan Morrison. Mark C. Spelbring is running unopposed in the Democratic primary. The general election took place on November 6, 2012.
