Joan A. Lewis was a Democratic member of the Connecticut House of Representatives, representing the 8th District from 2003 to 2011. She served as Assistant Majority Whip in her final term, and is also a former Assistant Majority Leader.

She works as an Estate Planning Paralegal, Kahan, Kerensky, and Cupossela.

Lewis is a member of the Coventry Democratic Town Committee, Coventry Historical Society, Co-President/Founder of the Coventry Scholarship Foundation Trust, member of the Coventry School Readiness Council, on the Board of Corporators of Rockville Bank, and a member of Women in Government.[1]

Lewis ran for re-election to the 8th District seat in 2010. She was defeated by Timothy J. Ackert (R) in the November 2 general election.

2008

In 2008, Lewis won re-election to the Connecticut House of Representatives from Connecticut's 8th District, defeating Timothy Ackert (R). Lewis received 6,679 votes in the election while Ackert received 5,845 votes.[2] Lewis raised $29,850 for her campaign; Ackert raised $29,424.[3]
