John Laurent (b. January 5, 1931) is a former Republican member of the New Hampshire House of Representatives, representing Cheshire 1 District from 1990-1996, 2002-2004, and from 2008-2010.

Laurent was a candidate for the New Hampshire State House of Representatives, Cheshire 1, in 2004 and 2006; as well as a candidate for New Hampshire State House of Representatives in 2000; and a clerk for Westmoreland Zoning Board from 1979-1991. His professional experience also includes supervisor of delivery and a carrier for the United States Postal Service; owner of Jack's Custom Service; and a corporal in the United States Army.

Biography

Laurent graduated from Holy Trinity High School. He and his wife, Frances, have six children; Carol, Denise, Janet, Jean, John Jr., and Martha.[1]

Elections

2008

On November 4, 2008, Laurent ran for the Cheshire District 1 of the New Hampshire House of Representatives, winning with 1,027 votes, ahead of Marjorie Merena (D) with 876 votes, and 1 vote for Other.[2]
