John McKinney enters Connecticut gubernatorial race

HARTFORD, Connecticut: John McKinney, a Republican leader of the Connecticut State Senate, has officially announced his entrance into Connecticut's 2014 gubernatorial election. He seeks to unseat incumbent Democrat Dan Malloy.[1]

McKinney may face a full primary election. Other potential Republican candidates in the race include: Tom Foley, 2010 gubernatorial nominee, Mark D. Boughton, 2010 lieutenant gubernatorial nominee, Michael Fedele, former Lieutenant Governor of Connecticut, Chris Shays, former member of the U.S. House, and Lawrence Cafero, state House Minority Leader.[1]
