John Stirrup was a 2011 Republican candidate for District 13 of the Virginia State Senate.

Stirrup has served as the Gainesville District Supervisor since 2003. He previously worked for an accounting firm, served as chief of staff for a member of Congress, and worked as a commercial real estate broker.

Stirrup ran in the 2011 election for Virginia Senate District 13. He and Richard Black were defeated by Robert Fitzsimmonds in the primary on August 23, 2011. The general election took place on November 8, 2011.[1][2]
